What this means for the city of Chicago is this, Emanuel said: "This puts Chicago in the lead in the field of quantum. The University of Chicago is now one of the premier schools worldwide in quantum research, which will pay dividends for generations economically."

The emerging field of quantum computing, according to the Department of Energy, " may revolutionize our ability to solve problems that are hard to address with even the largest supercomputers."

A new quantum computing partnership was just announced at the G7 summit between U of Chicago and the University of Tokyo.

This Quantum computing partnership with Japan’s quantum elite is a great boost for Hyde Park and Woodlawn.

The Obama museum and David Axelrods leadership of the Political Science movement at U of C have already boosted the global profile of the south side. Now this tops it off.

The block of 57th and Ellis will house some major brainpower and life changing activity .

Over the next ten years the amount of visibility and opportunity for those who participate is pretty Amazing.
